Mini Gas Springs Specifications
GASTAC offers three standard miniature gas spring series: the 3-8 series (3 mm rod / 8 mm tube), the 4-12 series (4 mm rod / 12 mm tube), and the 6-15 series (6 mm rod / 15 mm tube), covering strokes from 30 mm to 250 mm and force ranges from 10 N to 250 N. How to Measure a Small Gas Strut
To get the right replacement, you need to measure and check five key dimensions — extending the strut fully and compressing it fully gives you the numbers that matter. Here's what to check:
- Extended Length — Measure the distance from center to center of both mounting points when the strut is fully extended.
- Compressed Length — Measure the same center-to-center distance when the strut is fully compressed.
- Stroke — Calculate it by subtracting the compressed length from the extended length.
- End Fittings — Identify the fitting type and measure the ball diameter or eyelet hole diameter.
- Force — Read the N value printed on the cylinder, or test it with a force gauge.
