Chrome shaft
Typical Properties of Induction Hardened Chrome Plated (I.H.C.P.)
Compared with shafts that are just chrome plated only,I.H.C.P. bars are induction hardened which offers more additional level of impact resistance .So as to minimizes surface damage to the chrome from abrasion and/or impact. Surface Hardness is (Rc 50). Yield strength is approximately 110,000 PSI. Hard Chrome on Hard Surface. This material is an excellent choice for pneumatic and hydraulic applications.
Typical Properties of Hardened Chrome Plated Only (C.P.O.)
Minus induction hardened surface of the shaft substrate,C.P.O. bars are chrome plated shafts. The outer surface of the shaft has high hardness chrome, the sub-surface of the shaft, (under the chrome), is not hardened. Chrome Hardness is (Rc 58/60). For pneumatic and hydraulic applications where the further machining maybe required, this material is the best choice.
